Welcome to Literature & Composition! I am excited to have you. This will be a dynamic semester. I am pleased to let you know that I love teaching and bring a variety of skills and experiences to my classroom. Specifically, I taught College English / Composition, English and American Literature, and Southern Literature courses at The University of Alabama before transitioning to high school where I taught for 15 years in Fulton County. This year is my 4th year at Pope. I have taught every grade and every course level from remedial, co-taught, ESL, on-level, honors, and AP. I have lived in Cobb County for 16 years, and I am happy to have finally made the transition to Cobb County Schools. We moved here to send our children to the best schools in the state. I graduated with a degree in Business and after working a few years, went back to school to pursue and receive a Master's degree in Secondary Education English and another in English. I also have my Gifted Certification. I have a husband Russ to whom I have been married 20 years, two daughters (Meg, beginning college this year, a graduate of Walton & Laurel, a rising freshman at Walton), and two boxer dogs (Woodrow and Harper). I have a variety of interests, especially in the arts, but I also like water skiing, wake surfing, snow skiing, and spin class. I have a weird obsession with even numbers. I must set my alarm clock to even numbers and prefer that they somehow involve the number eight which is my favorite number. I do not eat orange food. As you can probably tell from the picture below (with Nick Saban), I am an Alabama fan and alumna of the University of Alabama. Also below on the far left is a picture of me with my father who died in October 2018 from pancreatic cancer -- it still weighs heavy on my heart. The rest are happy pictures of my family. Welcome to my extended family!
